Quick answer: Sprinkler winterization in Lacey Township and Bayville costs $85 to $150 for most homes. The price is set mainly by how many zones the system has.
2026 Winterization Pricing
| System size | Zones | Typical cost |
|---|---|---|
| Small residential | 4 to 5 | $85 to $110 |
| Mid-size residential | 6 to 8 | $110 to $135 |
| Large residential | 9 to 12 | $135 to $165 |
| Commercial or HOA | 12 or more | Quoted per property |
Prices are per visit and cover the compressed-air blowout of every zone, draining the backflow preventer, a valve check, and controller shutdown.
What Changes the Price
Zone count
Each zone is blown out separately and cycled two to three times. More zones means more time on site.
Well-fed systems
Many properties west of Route 9 in Lacey Township run on a private well. The pump, pressure tank, and any filter have to be drained along with the zones, which adds steps. Details are in winterizing a well-fed irrigation system.
Drip zones
Drip lines in garden beds are winterized at lower pressure than lawn zones and take a little longer per zone.
Access
If the shutoff is in a crawlspace or the controller is locked inside, plan for someone to be home or let us know how to get in.
What Skipping It Costs
| Freeze damage | Typical repair cost |
|---|---|
| Cracked lateral line | $150 to $400 per break |
| Split valve body | $80 to $200 per valve |
| Cracked spray or rotor head | $15 to $40 per head |
| Backflow preventer | $300 to $600 |
One hard freeze on a system that still has water in it commonly causes $500 to $1,500 in damage. Against that, the blowout is the cheapest maintenance the system gets all year.
Is It Cheaper to Do It Yourself?
A compressor large enough to clear a residential system properly is a towable unit. Renting one for a day, plus the fittings and regulator, usually costs about as much as hiring it done, and there is real risk in getting the pressure wrong. We lay out the numbers in DIY vs. professional sprinkler blowout.
