Well water runs a lot of irrigation west of the Route 9 corridor in Lacey Township — and a well-fed sprinkler system behaves differently than one on municipal water. Coastal Mist Irrigation diagnoses and repairs well-fed irrigation systems throughout Lacey Township, from pump and pressure-tank issues to iron staining and the extra winterization steps municipal-water systems don’t need. A municipal-water sprinkler system only has to worry about the sprinkler side of things — valves, heads, and zone wiring. A well-fed system adds a second machine to the equation: the well pump and pressure tank that supply the water in the first place. When something’s off, the symptom often shows up at the sprinkler heads (weak spray, pulsing pressure, a zone that won’t build pressure) even though the actual problem is upstream at the pump or tank. Diagnosing well-fed systems correctly means checking both halves, not just replacing sprinkler parts and hoping.
Orange or brown staining appearing on light-colored surfaces where the sprinklers hit is one of the clearest signs of iron in the water reaching the system. A pump that clicks on and off every few seconds instead of running steadily is short-cycling and wearing itself out faster than it should. And if pressure varies noticeably zone to zone, or one zone barely reaches the far end of the lawn, the pressure tank or pump output — not the sprinkler heads — is usually the real cause.

Can you fix my well pump itself, or just the irrigation side?
We diagnose and repair the irrigation-side effects of pump and pressure-tank issues, and can identify when the well equipment itself needs a well contractor. Many issues that look like a “sprinkler problem” turn out to be a quick pressure-tank fix.
Why does my water leave orange stains?
That’s iron in the well water. It won’t damage the sprinkler system itself, but it will stain siding, pavers, and light-colored surfaces over time. Adjusting head placement and spray pattern can reduce where it lands.
Does a well-fed system cost more to maintain?
Not necessarily more, but differently — the pump and tank need occasional attention that a municipal-water system doesn’t. Regular seasonal service catches most issues before they become expensive.
